United States: Solvang, California

Solvang, California was  indeed a very refreshing sight to see. It was like stepping into another dimension infused with an immensely different culture, while you are still pretty sure that you are still in Continental America. Yes, it was Danish in all aspects and forms, but I loved the fresh feeling it delivered!

This place is called Solvang, in California. It is aptly called “Little Denmark”, with very Danish old world architecture, Solvang is one of five small towns in the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara Wine Country. I would like to think of the place as something very cultured in all aspects, the reason why it is enjoyed and frequented by the elder members of the community. Lots of activities await the eager visitors:  from wine tasting to museum hopping, to boutique shopping and trying international cuisine, to sampling real Danish pastries, playing outdoors – riding bikes, surreys, and segways.

Authentic Danish pastries! YUM!!!!

In Solvang, Christmas is spent all year long!

In a nutshell, Solvang is fun in more ways than what meets the eye!
