United States: Viva Las Vegas!

Standard

Spending Christmas for the first time without our dad was truly heartbreaking. To make things easier for all of us, my family decided to fly all together to the US to visit some relatives and spend Christmas there, in the company of one another.

Despite being jetlagged, I was more than enthusiastic to go sight-seeing during my first day in the US! First stop: the Sin City– Las Vegas. And I ecstatically welcomed myself to the fabulous Las Vegas, in which I was able to do two things that I greatly enjoyed– hotel hopping and outlet shopping!

Posing with the Abercrombie models idling around the Abercrombie store, waiting for eager shop-goers like me! hahaha.

HOTEL HOPPING

From LA, we drove for around 4 and ½ hours to get to Las Vegas. Dancing lights and hearty buffets welcomed us! And because Las Vegas was known for its buffet lunches and dinners, we just could not let it pass. We had our late lunch at Studio B, voted as the best buffet in Las Vegas, inside M Resort and Casino.

After stuffing ourselves with so much food, we were fueled with so much energy to walk around the Las Vegas Strip. They say that the best way to experience Las Vegas was to experience it by foot. We walked, walked, and walked and were astounded with the many sights that the different hotels offered. Each hotel featured a different theme that’s why it was very entertaining to walk around and grab every photo opportunity that we could! With the cold creeping inside our jackets until it reaches our bones, our used-to-tropical-climate bodies could not definitely handle the cold air that Las Vegas was offering us. But in the spirit of novelty and all things new, we just had to keep on going and marvel at what every hotel offered us.

Our home base was the Flamingo Hotel where we are checked in. From there, we walked to Caesar’s Palace. Luxor. Mandalay Bay. New York,  New York. Excalibur. Pallazo. Esplanade. Bellagio. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. MGM Grand. Planet Hollywood. Wynn and The Venetian. Name it, we visited it!

Caesar’s Palace

Luxor

You could take a train as you go around the different casinos! How cool is that?

Mandalay Bay

If you’re Filipino, Mandalay Bay would sound very familiar to you because it is the hotel where Manny Pacquiao’s fights are usually held in.

New York, New York!

Excalibur

Sadly, I didn’t gamble in Las Vegas but I played “perya” games in Excalibur and I won a prize! I won Stewey from Family Guy!

Esplanade

Feeling the warmth of Christmas with real carolers

The Bellagio

The Bellagio was definitely a must-see. Besides the luxurious atmosphere, it just gave a perfect Christmas experience strolling around its grand displays!

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

If the shoe fits, wear it!

The Venetian

For most of the night, we strolled and shopped around Caesar’s Palace. We headed to the Tao at the Venetian to try out the Las Vegas party scene and I must say, it’s something to experience. This is where people would usually say, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”.

Sin City Defined.

Visiting Las Vegas is also a proper time to visit old friends! Thank God for reunions I was able to see Marg and Teri as we met up in The Venetian.

OUTLET SHOPPING

I spent one of the best days of my life as I shopped like crazy in the Premium Outlets of Las Vegas! Retail therapy will always be a girl’s best friend as I feasted my eyes for every SALE sign shouting in big red letters.

And yes, I feasted on buying designer bags in Las Vegas, where tax was not imposed on buying such goods, hence the cheaper prices. The only down-side of this is my ongoing addiction with designer bags which I have to control.

fruits of my labor.

They sell gadgets in Vending machines. How cool is that!

We were also able to shop to our heart’s content in Miracle Mile, M&M Store and Coca Cola Store!

In a nutshell, I would really say that Las Vegas is definitely a place I will remember for the rest of my life! I think Las Vegas will be better enjoyed with the company of friends! After all, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”
